On November 17, 2025, Novo Nordisk announced a significant update to its self-pay pricing for Wegovy® (semaglutide) injections. Because many of our patients use GLP-1 medications—or have considered doing so—we want to ensure you have clear, accurate information about what’s changing and who qualifies for this new pricing.
What’s Changing?
Beginning November 17, 2025, the following new cash-pay pricing applies:
- New self-pay patients starting Wegovy at 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg will pay $199 per month
– Valid for the first 2 monthly fills
– Offer runs 11/17/25 through 3/31/26 - Existing self-pay patients will pay $349 per month
Each fill provides a 28-day supply (equivalent to one month of treatment).
Novo Nordisk notes that the offer may change or end at any time, so patients considering starting or returning to treatment may want to take advantage while it’s available.
Who Qualifies for This Offer?
According to Novo Nordisk’s terms, the discount applies only to self-pay patients. This includes:
- Individuals without insurance, or
- Patients with commercial insurance that does not cover Wegovy
Important Restrictions
Certain individuals cannot use this discount—even if they attempt to pay cash:
- Medicare (any form)
- Medicaid
- VA
- Department of Defense
- TRICARE
- Any similar government-run prescription drug program
- Individuals who are Medicare-eligible and enrolled in EGWP or government-subsidized retiree drug plans
Who Can Use the Offer Despite Being on a Government-Connected Plan?
These exceptions are allowed:
- FEHB plans (Federal Employees Health Benefits)
- ACA marketplace plans
- State-employee insurance plans
These programs do not count as government prescription-drug programs for the purpose of this discount.

If you’ve been considering Wegovy, but hesitated due to cost, this temporary price reduction may make treatment more accessible. It may also be beneficial for patients who paused medication for financial reasons and are now thinking about restarting.
