According to researchers from the University of Adelaide, giving your body fake sugar damages your ability to process real sugar properly and increases your post-meal glucose levels. Eventually, this means that when you eat natural sugar (in fruits, whole grains, veggies, etc.), your body won’t be able to properly use it, which can cause your body to become overwhelmed.
